Who Am I?

Well, my name is John Andrew Crawford, but you probably already know that if you're visiting this sight.

Music, writing, and visual arts have been my core passions for as long as I can remember. For music, it began around 1986 when I first took piano lessons as a kid. In middle school during the early 1990's I picked up a trombone and since have played in concert, jazz, marching band, and even orchestra on through to my college years. Since then, I have helped at a local middle school when I had time to work with young trombonists on their technique and help lay down the basics. If the opportunity arises, I would love to play in a jazz combo, or maybe a concert band or orchestra that could use a trombone player in their section. I have sung in choirs as well, which also began in middle school and continued on into college. I'm a tenor, and have cantored a few times during Mass at my local Catholic parish. Music composition is also near to my heart, and a collection of songs I have written over the years can be found in the music section of this website. You can also check out my YouTube channel, which has all my music uploads I have put on it since 2012.

As for writing, you can check out my author page on Figment for my works in progress. I have yet to publish, but it is my goal to eventually have at least a trilogy written. The first book, Harmakhis is a little over halfway finished. A couple other books I'm working on as well are Burning Embers and The Duet. I also have a finished short story called An Unending Flame that you're welcome to read.

Regarding visual arts, I mainly take virtual snapshots in Second Life and Opensim. Thes can be cound on my photostream for my avatar named Iohannes Crispien.  I'll add some of my favorites from this photostream into the pictures section of this website. There are over 1,000 photos on my photostream, so yeah, putting up a smaller artist's choice collection in this website might be helpful for those that don't have the time to look through them all. I may also include drawings, and particularly ones that have been touched up and inked digitally in that collection as well.
